Founded in 2016 as an independent law firm,
Becker & Muller has grown in terms of its activities together with their team, without losing sight of the importance of close personal links with their clients.
The professional experience acquired by Max Becker and Caroline Muller in working for top-tier Luxembourg law firms is such that they are able to offer a high quality of service both in litigation proceedings as well as the provision of advice to businesses and individuals. Thanks also to the broad experience of their team, they can advise clients in a wide range of areas, at both a national and an international level.
The particular areas dealt with by the members of the firm include real estate law, construction law, the law of contracts, the law of inheritance, civil liability, labor law, commercial law, company law as well as criminal law. Due to the individual experience of each partner in these fields, they can deal at a high level with most complex interdisciplinary matters.
Our philosophy in relation to contentious proceedings revolves around 3 fundamental elements:
– Avoiding litigation: helping clients in their projects by proposing to them a tailor-made structure and a made-to-measure, practical contractual framework offering legal certainty and leaving nothing to chance. We take the view that, in a great many cases, court proceedings can be avoided by means of careful and intelligent groundwork.
– Resolving disputes out of court: effectively resolving disputes that have arisen without wasting years locked in litigation before the courts. The avoidance of lengthy and costly proceedings is one of the guiding principles by which we operate, and we recommend recourse to all forms of out-of-court dispute resolution, such as the conclusion of a settlement, mediation and arbitration, depending on the context of the dispute and provided this is in the client’s interests.
– Effective representation in court proceedings: where judicial proceedings are unavoidable, we provide the best possible assistance/representation before the courts, by collaborating closely with the client, be this in the drafting of pleadings and procedural documents or in the formulation of the appropriate defence strategy. All our advocates are able to assist and/or represent our clients in proceedings before all ordinary and administrative courts in Luxembourg and in arbitration tribunals.
Our philosophy as regards the provision of advice is to offer our exacting clients a range of services backed by several decades’ experience of legal practice, at competitive fee rates, in accordance with the rules of ethical conduct governing the legal profession.

Max Becker
Max Becker studied law at the Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg. Having gained his Master 2 (formerly DEA) degree in private international law, he went on to pursue the requisite additional studies in Luxembourg law and was admitted to the Luxembourg Bar in the spring of 2008. Since 2010, he has been enrolled in List 1 of the roll of the Ordre des Avocats du Barreau de Luxembourg [Luxembourg Bar Council] as an Avocat à la Cour [lawyer having a right of audience before the court].
From 2008 to 2015, Max worked as an assistant lawyer, and then as a senior assistant lawyer, in the litigation and dispute resolution department of one of the most well-known and highly regarded law firms in Luxembourg.
During the judicial year 2015-2016, he joined the judiciary and worked in the Luxembourg City Tribunal d’arrondissement [District Court], initially as an attaché de justice [judicial attaché] and then as a juge-délégué [delegated judge] in the chambers of that Court.
He then decided to re-join the Luxembourg Bar and became a partner in the firm as from the judicial year 2016-2017.
Max specialises, both at a non-contentious level and in the context of litigation, in various different areas of law, including, but not limited to, civil law (liability in tort and in contract), the law of succession, commercial and company law, labour law and property law (construction law and landlord and tenant law). Having honed his expertise in criminal law and procedure during his time spent working in the judiciary, he is also able to advise clients in those areas.
In light of the numerous cases that he has been called upon to handle in the most diverse and multidisciplinary areas, Max tailors his advice to the individual needs of his clients, whether they are private individuals or businesses.
As a Luxembourger, Max speaks and writes in French, German, English and Luxembourgish.
Caroline Muller
Caroline Muller holds a Master’s degree in law awarded by the University of Nancy II.
Caroline has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 3 July 2008.
She began her career by joining a prestigious international business law firm in Luxembourg.
Having gained solid experience, especially in business law, Caroline specialised in litigation, with a view to diversifying her skills and being able to offer clients a full range of services.
She accordingly joined a firm specialising in litigation, thereby acquiring experience in handling cases in various additional areas.
Caroline is able to advise on matters of contract law (cancellation, absence of consent, etc.), commercial law (disputes between shareholders, directors’ liability, etc.), liquidations, insolvencies and inheritance.
Her specialist fields also include the law of co-ownership (debt collection, annulment of general meetings, breaches of co-ownership rules, drafting of minutes of general meetings, etc.), builders’ liability (construction defects, non-conformity, ten-year warranty and two-year warranty). Caroline advises professionals in the field of real property (developers, architects, estate agents, etc.). She also handles litigation relating to the validity of contracts for the sale of real property, as well as disputes concerning leases of commercial premises and private property.
In addition, Caroline advises and represents clients in relation to all employment matters (drafting of notices of dismissal and letters setting out the grounds for termination of employment, challenges against dismissal from employment, negotiation of settlements, etc.).
Thanks to her experience in business law and litigation, Caroline applies a holistic approach to the job of a lawyer, which gives her a tremendous advantage in her work.
Caroline is fluent in French, English and German.

Salah Nacer
Salah Nacer holds a Master II degree in Business Litigation from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Master II degree in Arbitration and International Business Law from the University of Versailles.
As part of his training, he participated in the International Arbitration Moot of the SciencesPo school (semi-finalist) and in the International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot of Singapore (IMLAM).
With these experiences, Salah acquired solid legal skills in international law firms in the MENA zone.
After being sworn in on 2 December 2021, Salah joined the firm to practise as a lawyer.
Salah’s main areas of practice are civil and commercial law, tax law (advisory and litigation), corporate law and asset structuring.
He also works in criminal and succession matters.
Salah speaks and writes French, English, Arabic and understands Spanish.
